Business Analysis
Case Study
Public Sector tender
Problem
A public sector client needed a new website because the old platform was outdated and had a high security risk. The client needed assistance with business analysis and drafting of the initial development work so that the scope of the initial work and planned budget limits were realistic in today’s market situation. In addition to a description of the functionality, the client needed technical advice for best practices in modern web solutions.
Process
In cooperation with the client, we mapped the current situation, described functional needs and collected them into epics. The client evaluated the priority of each epic and I evaluated the complexity – as a result, we knew the return on investment (ROI) value for each epic, which made it easy for the client to decide on the boundaries of the desired solution.
Outcome
As a result of the business analysis, a suitable requirements document was prepared for the procurement, the content of which gave the bidder an overview of the expected functionality, requirements, and priorities. Due to the clarity and balance requirements of the scope, enough bidders were obtained from which the client chose the most suitable one.
