Workshop: Scrum Method
The Scrum method workshop helps to understand and practice the events of the Scrum development framework. Teams new to Scrum might feel there are too many meetings (daily, planning, review, retrospective). However, it is often overlooked that all these meetings have distinct purposes and content (must be well-moderated), fixed durations, and specific outcomes. Scrum events are the only project meetings a team needs in its daily work; all other project-related meetings are no longer necessary and can be omitted (except for steering).
Example situations where the Scrum method workshop helps a team progress:
- A team wishing to start with the Scrum method
- A team that has started with Scrum but is dissatisfied with its implementation – the team does not perceive the benefits of Scrum, and the development process has not improved.
- Scrum meetings take too much time and/or are inefficient
- Some team members have not previously encountered Scrum and require training
- Scrum has been partially implemented, and the team needs to move to the next stage of development
- A team that uses another agile development methodology (e.g., Kanban, XP) or a hybrid and wishes to learn about the Scrum method
In the workshop, we will review Scrum theory, benefits, and implementation challenges, and practice the Sprint cycle with all Scrum events, roles, and artifacts.

Learning Outcomes

<li>The team becomes aware of the risks of Scrum implementation and knows how to avoid them</li>
<li>The team jointly decides on the next steps and, based on their needs, creates an action plan for the coming months</li>

Format
<li>Duration <strong>4 hours. </strong><br>Recommended time: first half of the day.</li>
<li><strong>In-house training</strong> at the client's premises. (If desired, a training room and catering can also be ordered.) </li>
<li>The language of communication is Estonian or English, <strong>materials are only in English</strong>.</li>
