Posters are very useful tools for conveying the message and there is great power in visualisation. Before the corona time, I used them on the walls of meeting rooms, but now in the virtual Zoom era, I used them in the Miro environment. Here you will find some of my agile posters and some favorites from other authors. Everything is meant to be used freely!
The Agile Mindset poster
The opposition between “Doing Agile” and “Being Agile” is often encountered in agile software development materials, and for good reason. In short:
it is not enough to just DO agile routines, the team’s THINKING and decisions must also become agile.
For example, if the team does all Scrum meetings properly (Daily, Planning, Review, Retro), but does not focus on whether a valuable product is being created at all, then the team is only halfway there – it uses an agile development framework, but has not yet adopted agile values and mindset.
It’s easy to change your Behaviour, but it’s only by changing your mindset and culture that your team starts to become truly powerful. It all takes time and conscious guidance, being one part of the Scrum Master’s work.
The 4 Agile Values poster
The four agile values have remained the same for 20 years. In order to understand their content correctly, it is necessary to understand the context and read them as priorities of activities and not as opposing activities.
For example, the first value “We value people and the communication between them more than processes and development tools” must be read:
“First deal with people and communication between them, then decide on processes and development tools”.
For a more in-depth explanation of all agile values, see the story “What is Agile?”
Scrum values
- Courage – Scrum team members dare to do the right thing and face difficult problems
- Focus – Everyone focuses on the sprint work and the team’s goals
- Commitment – Personal commitment to the goals of the Scrum team
- Respect – Scrum team members respect each other as capable, independent individuals
- Openness – The Scrum Team and key people are constantly open and transparent about the status of work and challenges.

Retro Sailboat Board Poster
This poster is well suited for conducting the team’s first retrospective meeting. Collectively, the following are defined:
- the goal they want to reach (palm island);
- factors that contribute to moving forward (tailwind from behind, “What went well?“);
- factors hindering progress (anchor, “What could we improve?“);
- possible risks (reefs);
- further actions and promises (action points, commitments).
